In the eighth episode of dis:orient’s new podcast we will talk
with Howie Rechavia-Taylor, an academic based in London and
formerly in Berlin. Since his work is in English we decided to
have this conversation in English as well.

Howie is both an activist and an academic. He is an organizer
with an anti-Zionist organization in Berlin and he also studies
Germany’s colonial history and the numerous ways it reaches into
the present – from Germany’s memory politics to the state’s
stance on reparations.

Another question that occupies Howie’s work is what Zionists have
learned from German colonialism and how we can think about the
genocide of the Herero and Nama and the ongoing genocide in Gaza
as belonging to the same history of settler colonialism.
