Light the Fire with Eliot Marshall

Professor Eliot Marshall and I sat down to talk about life,
jiu-jitsu, and parenting on the Aspire Higher Podcast. After a
spiritual awakening in his life, Eliot needed to make a change in
his life for the sake of his family and his health. In spite of a
lifetime of physical achievements and success, he was
experiencing major anxiety and sleepless nights.


A truly unique quality of Eliot’s is that he is equally adept
fighting in the octagon, teaching a class of adults, or
effortlessly commanding the attention of a packed room of

very basic. Though many instructors like to teach elaborate
moves, and base their classes around whatever new technique they
are practicing, Eliot prefers to stick to the fundamentals. He
