Our guest (and show sponsor), Darrin Schmidt, grew up in the
business and has spent 40+ years designing and building quality
grills and smokers for everyone from the backyarder to the state
fair, and even NASCAR. Holstein Manufacturing was founded with
the goal of simplifying the art of grilling and smoking, so one
big distinguishing feature of Holstein products is the
availability of propane as a primary heat source.


Their first unit (back in the ‘70’s) was designed to prepare a
whole hog for a town fundraiser in order to save Turner Hall in
Holstein, Iowa. They have carried that spirit of ingenuity into
their massive line of products that are NSF and UL approved.
