Scott Galloway is an entrepreneur, professor, bestselling author,
investor, and podcast host. Over the past decades, he has founded
several companies, taught brand strategy, and become one of the
most prominent public commentators on technology, business, and
society. Now he was live on stage of the never-ending podcast, on
the sidelines of the OMR Festival in Hamburg. Scott Galloway grew
up in California as the son of two immigrants and was raised
largely by his mother, a secretary, after his father left the
family. He describes his childhood as »remarkably unremarkable«:
there was little money, but also a society that, in his telling,
still gave ordinary children a real chance to build an
extraordinary life. At school and university, Galloway was not a
prodigy. He says he had average grades, initially failed to get
into UCLA, appealed the decision, was admitted as a »native son of
California«, and graduated with a GPA of 2.27. After a short and,
by his own account, uneasy stint at Morgan Stanley, he went to
business school, discovered brand strategy, and founded the
consulting firm Prophet — the first of several companies that made
him wealthy and, as he openly recounts, twice brought him back to
losing that wealth again. Today, Scott Galloway is one of the most
visible commentators on technology, business, and masculinity. In
this conversation, he speaks about the social damage caused by
online platforms, the opportunities and illusions of American
capitalism, the risks and promises of artificial intelligence, and
the reasons why he believes drugs like GLP-1 may change society
even more profoundly than AI. After two hours and one minute, Scott
Galloway ends the conversation, as only the guest can do so on
