Ureinwohner Indiens, die in den 50er Jahren vor Errichtung des
Stahlwerks dort lebten. Rourkela hat heute über 500.000
Einwohner. Und ist zentral für das indische Wirtschaftswachstum.


/ Christoph Burgmer visited the Indian city of Rourkela in the
state of Odisha. What became of the steel plant in the Indian
jungle, the largest development aid project of the former Federal
Republic of Germany? How do the Adivasi, the indigenous people of
India, who lived there in the 1950s before the steel plant was
built, live today? Rourkela now has over 500,000 inhabitants and
is central to India's economic growth.
