#5 Andrea Diefenbach

In dieser Folge des Fotobus-Podcasts sprechen Lara und Felix mit
Andrea Diefenbach unter anderem über ihre
Langzeitprojekte “Land ohne Eltern” und “Realitatea”. Andrea
erzählt von den Anfängen ihrer Arbeit als Fotografin, von
Begegnungen während ihrer Recherchen in der Ukraine und der
Republik Moldau und von ihrer Tätigkeit als Lehrende für
Fotografie.


Andrea Diefenbach ist Fotografin und Professorin für Fotografie
an der Hochschule für Künste Bremen. In ihren dokumentarischen
Langzeitprojekten beschäftigt sie sich mit gesellschaftlichen
Transformationsprozessen, individueller Verletzlichkeit und den
Rändern der Sichtbarkeit. 


Ihre Arbeiten wurden vielfach ausgezeichnet und international
ausgestellt, u.a. im Einstein Haus Ulm, der Blue Sky Gallery in
Portland, dem Münchner Stadtmuseum und der Galerie Clamp Art in
New York. 2024 wurde sie mit dem Dr.-Erich-Salomon-Preis der
Deutschen Gesellschaft für Photographie (DGPh) ausgezeichnet.
Zudem veröffentlichte Andrea bisher drei Bücher: AIDS in Odessa,
Land ohne Eltern und Realitatea.


Der Fotobus-Podcast präsentiert Interviews mit Menschen aus dem
Bereich der Fotografie, die über ihren Werdegang, ihre Arbeit und
ihre Beziehung zur Fotografie sprechen.

In this episode of the Fotobus podcast, Lara and Felix talk to
Andrea Diefenbach about her long-term projects
“”Land ohne Eltern” and ‘Realitatea’, among other things. Andrea
talks about the beginnings of her work as a photographer, about
encounters during her research in Ukraine and the Republic of
Moldova and about her work as a photography teacher.


Andrea Diefenbach is a photographer and professor of photography
at the University of the Arts Bremen. In her long-term
documentary projects, she deals with social transformation
processes, individual vulnerability and the edges of
visibility. 


Her work has received numerous awards and been exhibited
internationally, including at the Einstein Haus Ulm, the Blue Sky
Gallery in Portland, the Munich City Museum and the Clamp Art
Gallery in New York. In 2024, she was awarded the Dr. Erich
Salomon Prize of the German Society for Photography (DGPh).
Andrea has also published three books to date: AIDS in Odessa,
Land ohne Eltern and Realitatea.
