Die Kolonisierung von Zeit und Tod: Momo, Linearität und die Kunst der Zirkularität

Dieser WisdomTalk Podcast erkundet das Spannungsfeld zwischen dem
Chronos als lineare und ökonomisierte Zeitvorstellung und dem
Kairos als erlebte Eigenzeit. Khushwant Singh zeigt auf, dass
Konzepte von Zeit nicht neutral sind, sondern Ausdruck von
Weltdeutungen, Kontrolle und Machtverhältnissen. Sie sind eng
verknüpft mit Vorstellungen von Leben und Tod. Lineare
Zeitvorstellungen wie der gregorianische Kalender haben sich
historisch durchgesetzt und dabei unter anderem durch
Kolonisierung und Hegemonie zyklische Perspektiven verdrängt. Sie
begünstigten nicht nur die Ausbeutung von Menschen, Tieren und
der Natur, sondern stehen auch in Verbindung mit
Gegenwartsphänomenen wie Bestrebungen zur Lebensverlängerung und
zum Transhumanismus. Ausgehend von den Weisheiten der Sikhi,
bietet der Podcast Einsichten in eine zyklische Betrachtungsweise
von Zeit und göttlicher Ordnung. Dabei eröffnet der der Podcast
einen Reflexionsraum dafür, in einer kapitalistischen und
digitalisierten Welt Zeit jenseits linearer Fortschrittslogiken
zu begreifen und den Tod nicht als Ende, sondern als Übergang
innerhalb kosmischer Evolution zu sehen.

This WisdomTalk podcast explores the tension between Chronos as a
linear and economized conception of time and Kairos as lived,
experiential time. Khushwant Singh demonstrates that concepts of
time are not neutral but reflect worldviews, systems of control,
and power structures. They are closely intertwined with ideas
about life and death. Linear conceptions of time, such as the
Gregorian calendar, became historically dominant and, through
processes including colonization and hegemony, displaced cyclical
perspectives. In doing so, they not only facilitated the
exploitation of people, animals, and nature but are also
connected to contemporary phenomena such as life-extension
ambitions and transhumanism. Drawing on the wisdom of Sikhi, the
podcast offers insights into a cyclical understanding of time and
divine order. It creates a space for reflection on how time can
be understood beyond linear notions of progress in a capitalist
and digitalized world, and how death may be viewed not as an end
but as a transition within the ongoing evolution of the cosmos.
