It's a skill to learn to master your emotions.
At times they get the best of us, we let the instant
gratification of blowing up, raising our voice or putting someone
straight take over the cool, calm and in control, centered
response that would actually get us want we want.
It's not easy, but, if we can do it, by choosing the other path
and deciding to operate without anger taking over, we create new
results. Anger is easy. Anger doesn't take any effort all. What's
not easy but is worthwhile for your success is knowing yourself
and knowing how you handle tricky situations. When you master
this, ultimately you master yourself.
If someone or something can make you angry, they have power over
you. This is not a great feeling and whilst in the moment it
feels cathartic to let it rip, it does YOU a
disservice.
You are robbing yourself of the outcome that could have been
created if you kept your cool. This is where you stack advantages
in your favor, when you control you, you become next level!
Gone is the shame and guilt about how you should have responded
but didn't and in comes a new world class operator that's able to
address complex and challenging situations under pressure keeping
the big picture and their respect for themselves front and
centre.
