In this episode of the podcast I was delighted to welcome on
Niall O'Connor. Niall is a sports scientist, personal trainer
& elite handballer who has competed at a national &
inter-national level in handball, previously winning a doubles
world championship.

We discuss physical & mental preparation for elite sport,
understanding momentum, difference between individual & team
sport, controlling gameplay and how to successfully compete as a
team.

Niall speaks on how sports science has affected his
training,  gameplay strategies in the different codes of
handball as well as mental strategies that can be applied to both
individual & team sports.

We also cover:

-  Is the GAA doing enough to promote the sport of handball
in Ireland?

- What beginner & intermediate players can focus on to
improve their game?

- Should the scoring system in handball be changed?
