131. The Tools to Talk: How to Communicate with Confidence, Set Boundaries, and Stop Spiraling (ft. Debra Roberts, LCSW & Communication Expert)
30.07.2025
49 Minuten
Let’s talk about communication — not just the “how to talk so people listen” kind, but the kind that actually helps you feel more understood, less reactive, and more in control of your emotions and relationships. This week, I’m joined by the incredible Debra Roberts, LCSW — licensed clinical social worker, communication expert, and creator of The Relationship Protocol. We dig into everything from setting boundaries around how people speak to you (and how you let people make you feel), to understanding the difference between emotional and trauma reactions, and how to navigate conflict without losing your cool. Debra shares tools for overcoming the “I can’t” mindset, rebuilding confidence after failure, and responding with clarity when you feel challenged — whether that’s in your personal life or at work. Oh, and if you’ve ever heard of The Let Them Theory... we’re unpacking that, too. This conversation is packed with real-life takeaways to help you stop spiraling and start communicating with intention — even when it’s hard.  Ready to level up your communication? Debra is offering Why Not #DoBoth listeners 10% off her personal communication program, My Communication Tools — an affordable, self-paced course designed to help you feel more confident and less overwhelmed in conversations that matter. 130. From Scrubs to CEO: Being Taken Seriously, Showing Up For Yourself, & Creating Joy Outside the OR (ft. Dr. Tiffany Moon, Anesthesiologist & Entrepreneur)
23.07.2025
1 Stunde 10 Minuten
Have you ever felt like following the ‘rules’ of success meant shrinking who you really are? Dr. Tiffany Moon — anesthesiologist, entrepreneur, bestselling author, motivational speaker, Real Housewives fan fave (yes, that was her on Dallas), share what it means for her to not just do both, but balance ALL. We talked about what it means to color outside the lines — why she started her own businesses, built an empire online, and said yes to opportunities that didn’t exactly “fit the mold” of what’s expected of someone in medicine. Spoiler: It wasn’t always easy. She opened up about the struggle of being taken seriously by her peers while showing up as her full, feminine self online… and why she keeps doing it anyway. Tiffany drops some real wisdom about networking, too — specifically how reaching out to people already doing what you want to do can open doors you didn’t even know existed. Don’t let the fear of rejection keep you small, friends. If you’ve ever felt like you’re “too much” or worried about being cringe for chasing what lights you up — this one’s for you. 128. A Mission for Mentorship: How I Use Instagram for Good to Connect Thousands of Service Members with Mentors Worldwide (ft. Major Jackie Barnum Fox, USMC & BFF!)
09.07.2025
1 Stunde 5 Minuten
LET'S TALK MENTORSHIP! We dive deep into the real talk around mentorship — and not just the shiny kind you see on LinkedIn. We’re talking about the different sizes of mentorship (it's not one size fits all!), how asking for help is actually a strength (not a weakness!), and why building your village is essential, especially in high-pressure environments like the military. I’m joined by one of my absolute best friends and all-around powerhouse, Jackie Barnum Fox — Marine Corps officer, nonprofit founder, and the heart behind Mentors In Service. Jackie and I were roommates at the United States Naval Academy, so this conversation is extra special. Originally from the Bay Area in California, Jackie graduated from the Academy in 2014 and commissioned as a Marine Corps officer. Over the past eleven years, she’s served in logistics billets across Okinawa, Camp Pendleton, Newport, and Miramar. Jackie shares her journey starting a nonprofit from the ground up — yes, we get into the legal bits too! — and how she’s using Mentors In Service to support the mental health and development of service members across all ranks and branches. Since launching the program in 2021, she’s facilitated over 3,500 mentor connections and built an online platform to expand this free service to service members, their families, and even those just considering military life. Spoiler: she’s absolutely doing both — and doing it well.Show notes ~ Find a mentor here: https://www.mentorsinservice.org/ Donate to Mentors in Service: https://checkout.square.site/merchant/MLT39ET7WFA3K/checkout/TN5CNIHNB2T2YF6EWGVKC443 Enjoyed this episode? 127. He Loves the Hate Comments?! What It’s Really Like Being Married to an Influencer (ft. Husband Austin Sbrocchi)
02.07.2025
36 Minuten
This week’s episode is a little different — I’m joined by my husband, Austin Sbrocchi, for a behind-the-scenes look at what life is really like being married to an influencer. Austin gets real about what it’s like living in the content whirlwind: the highs, the chaos, the comment sections (which, yes, he loves), and how he balances it all while cheering me on from the sidelines. He shares why he thinks I’m “a lot” — in the best way — and why he wouldn’t have it any other way. We talk about setting boundaries and finding balance as a couple, how we navigate communication in the midst of constantly being “on,” and why choosing a partner who genuinely supports your passions is everything. From laughing about his Disney character comparisons to getting honest about what this life really looks like off camera — this one’s real, hilarious, and full of love. Enjoyed this episode?
