Wie kaum ein anderer Arzt kann Dr. Johannes Wimmer Medizin erklären – verständlich, empathisch und auf Augenhöhe. Als erster Mediziner seiner Familie sieht er nicht nur Pathologie, Diagnostik und Therapie, sondern immer auch den Menschen dahinter. Früh beginnt er, Medizin zu übersetzen – weil er weiß, wie es ist, die andere Seite nicht zu verstehen. Ob als Arzt, Forscher oder Unternehmer: Sein Ziel ist, Medizin zugänglich zu machen. Doch als seine Tochter schwer erkrankt, steht er plötzlich selbst auf der anderen Seite – als Angehöriger, der erlebt, was unzureichende Kommunikation anrichten kann. Schließlich verlässt er mit seiner Tochter auf dem Arm die Klinik, weil er dort keine Hoffnung mehr sieht.
