Noch einmal: Die Global Cultural Assembly – Entwicklungen 2025 In
der ersten Folge von „Gegen die Gewohnheit“ haben wir Euch von den
Plänen für eine Global Cultural Assembly berichtet: Mehr als 80
Internationale Partner*innen des Ethnologischen Museums, des
Museums für Asiatische Kunst und des Humboldt Forums waren 2022 und
in kleinerer Besetzung 2023 in Berlin und haben mit den
Museumsmenschen diskutiert, wie die Institutionen gerechtere Räume
für Menschen aus den Herkunftsgesellschaften der Cultural
Belongings und der Diaspora werden können. Nun hat im Juni 2025 die
geplante Global Cultural Assembly im Humboldt Forum stattgefunden
und die Weichen gestellt für eine dauerhafte, nachhaltige und echte
Zusammenarbeit der internationalen Expert*innen mit den Akteuren im
Humboldt Forum. Geplant wurde diese Neuauflage der GCA von der
sogenannten Preparatory Group. Zur Mitte der Konferenzwoche haben
uns vier ihrer Mitglieder einige Fragen zu ihrer Arbeit beantwortet
und Ausblick gegeben auf das, was sie sich für die nächsten Jahre
erhoffen. Gesprächspartner*innen in der Reihenfolge ihres
Auftritts: Augustine Moukodi ist Autorin, Regisseurin und
Produzentin aus Kamerun. Sie forscht zur Kolonialgeschichte und ist
General Secretary des kamerunischen Arms der Worlds Association of
Cultural Actresses zur Stärkung der Rolle von Frauen in der
Kulturwelt. Feride Funda Gençaslan ist Vorsitzende des
Sufi-Zentrum Rabbaniyya, Europäisches Zentrum für Sufismus und
interreligiöse Begegnungen e. V. und Co-Kuratorin im Modul
„Mystische Dimensionen des Islam“ im 3.OG der Ethnologischen
Sammlungen im Humboldt Forum. Fabiano Kueva ist ein
ecuadorianischer Künstler und Kurator, der für seine kritische und
dekoloniale Dekonstruktion von Alexander von Humboldt bekannt ist.
Achiles Bufure ist Direktor des National Museum & House of
Culture in Dar Es Salaam, Tansania. The Global Cultural Assembly
revisited – 2025 developments In the first instalment of “Going
against the grain”, we told you about the plans for a Global
Cultural Assembly: more than 80 international partners of the
Ethnologisches Museum, the Museum für Asiatische Kunst and the
Humboldt Forum had been in Berlin in 2022 and in smaller numbers in
2023 to discuss with museum people how the institutions can become
more equitable spaces for people from the societies of origin of
the Cultural Belongings and the diaspora. The planned Global
Cultural Assembly took place at the Humboldt Forum in June 2025 and
set the course for a lasting, sustainable, and genuine
collaboration between international experts and the Humboldt
Forum's players. This new edition of the GCA was planned by the
so-called Preparatory Group. In the middle of the conference week,
four of its members answered some questions about their work and
gave us an outlook on what they hope to achieve in the coming
years. Interview partners in the order of their appearance:
Augustine Moukodi is an author, director and producer from
Cameroon. She researches colonial history is General Secretary of
the Cameroonian branch of the der Worlds Association of Cultural
Actresses for the empowerment of women in the cultural world.
Feride Funda Gençaslan is chairwoman of the Sufi centre Rabbaniyya,
European Centre for Sufism and Interreligious Encounters e. V. and
co-curator of the section “Mystic dimensions of Islam” on the 3rd
floor of the ethnological collections in the Humboldt Forum.
Fabiano Kueva is an Ecuadorian artist and curator known for his
critical and decolonial deconstruction of Alexander von Humboldt.
Achiles Bufure is director of the National Museum & House of
Culture in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.
