Candice Alaska (IG: @understandingbpd and @candicealaska) a
mental health advocate who uses an anti-oppression lens in her
advocacy. She joins the podcast to share her perspective of
mental health as a person of South Asian heritage from Trinidad
and Tobago, what advocacy looks like in the Global South, and how
western imperialism has pathologized people with strong cultural
groundings without considering culture in how mental illness is
treated.
