Carly (@jesuscoffeeandprozac) is a married mom of two who works
as a substance use prevention counselor with middle school
students. Though she has struggled with her mental health for
almost 20 years, she was formally diagnosed with BPD in January
2024. She is now in a specialized treatment program that utilizes
dynamic reconstructive psychotherapy (DDP) to treat people at
high risk for suicide. In this episode, Carly talks about her
understanding of DDP, how it differs from DBT, and how it’s
working so far.

Just a quick note on triggers: in this episode we briefly talk
about a specific method for suicide. We did so because it was
relevant to the conversation and therapeutic technique. We tried
to be brief and keep it non-specific. The timestamp is
approximate 32-33 minutes if you would like to skip that
section.

This episode featured Laurie Edmundson who previously was a
co-host of this project. You can find her at
https://www.laurieedmundson.com and on IG @laurieanned where you
will find ways to access The Super Feelers Club and other
projects she works on.
