The Unjust Judge // Parables // April 30, 2023

In this parable Jesus tells the story of a widow who needs legal
protection from an unjust judge. In that culture at that time she
is the person who would rarely if ever get justice and yet she
does. But how did she get justice from an unjust judge? She kept
coming day after day bugging the judge to get legal protection.
She wore him down and he gave in to her requests. Now, this is a
parable of the need of answered prayer but we must be careful not
to think the judge in the story is what God is like. The parable
points out the contrast between God and the unjust judge.
