Today, I speak with IFBB Pro Dr. Jaqueline Duke, a doctor of
clinical psychology who has ran a thriving practice while raising
her young daughter with her also-competing, chiropractic
physician, IFBB Pro husband. She earned her pro card with a first
place finish at NPC TCM Nationals and received two fourth place
finishes 24 hours later at her pro debut in the IFBB Pittsburgh
Pro Masters Championships. Her success in Pittsburgh took place
only 13 months after her very first bikini competition, a goal
she decided to pursue with her husband in celebration of their
40th birthdays.
The doctors' first prep began just prior to the March 2020 shut
down, which presented its own obstacles in addition to drastic
career changes, struggles in parenting a young daughter, and
events that lead to their current preparation to move across the
country. Amidst the chaos and tragic loss that 2020 presented to
the Duke family, Jacqueline found bodybuilding to be the anchor
that provided stability in life while also connecting her with
like-minded individuals. She grew to find a passion and deeper
connection to the meaning of her goals within the sport. She
attributes these emotional experiences to be what created her
relentless drive and fast, consistent success.
