Charlotte Jacobs sits down with host Camilla Webster to discuss her
book Jonas Salk: A Life and why she chose to take on this American
hero in medicine. Jacobs brings to light what influenced the
choices Salk made throughout his life as he went through his
journey to save lives. Most known for creating the polio vaccine,
Salk also co-developed the first influenza vaccine, started the
Salk Institute and did pioneering work on AIDS. Kevin Kimberlin,
who had a major impact at the end of Jonas Salk’s life and started
