1464 A Shift in Your Rank

Growing up in the military, ranks were very much apart of my
life. I can remember my Dad having a plan to work his way up the
ranks. He had to work very hard to achieve each advancement in
the ranks.


Then watching the pre-qualifier for the Australian Open, the
commentators were discussing who was ranking where, and the
advantages plus disadvantages to being ranked where they were.


And we can't leave out a little football! LOL :) At the beginning
of the game, the players are announced with their "ranking"
(i.e., 86th of 113).


Everywhere we turn, there are rankings.


Where have you been ranked in your life?


School

Sports

Dance/Cheer

Career

Management

Health

Finances



Ranking is nothing new to our lives, even our ranking in Heaven.


WHAT?!?


There is a ranking in Heaven?


Now I did not say that, but most of us are living like there is.


We try to "earn" our way closer to God.


Volunteer at church

Start a non-profit

Cook for those in need

Tithe

Attend church on Sunday because....well we do.

Donate money during the holidays

Sponsor a child in another country



Where in the Bible have you found that you have to climb the
corporate ladder to get closer to God?


REFLECTION: What if there was a shift in your
ranking?


The key is the connection to your heart!


Why do you do what you do?


Sometimes when we peel the layers back as to the reason behind
what we are doing, we discover that our heart wasn't in it or our
time/resources could be spent more efficiently and effectively.
"Surely, there is a future, and your hope will not be
cut off." ~ Proverbs 23:18

Honestly, I think we are afraid to question all that we do when
it comes to growing closer to God. Most of it, we do out of
habit.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Shift your ranking!

Now, I'm not telling you that everything you are doing is for the
wrong reasons.


What I am doing is challenging you to look deeper than the
surface for those who are watching and ask yourself....Why do I
do what I do?


How do you think your year would look if you were living the TRUE
YOU; the YOU God divinely created?


If you are trying to climb the corporate ladder in Heaven, you
might feel good initially, but wearing yourself down to the point
of not being able to live out YOUR divine purpose; the TRUE YOU!
Is it worth it?


You will be living out loud based on a ranking of what others say
you should be doing.


Where have "should haves", "would haves", and "could haves"
gotten you?


Not very far! And neither will "earning" your way closer to God.
Re-examine where you are with God. Commit to spending valuable,
quality time with Him. Know hope is always present.

But YOU have to be too!


God holds your future in His hands. Make peace with your
yesterday, embrace your tomorrow, and seek God today!
"Train for life. Love your journey!"
God's got YOU!!!
