1470 What Remains True

We try too hard to get along in our marriages, that we
forget what remains true. Love takes action. Love takes work.
Love is a beautiful gift.

A long, long time ago in the city of attraction, there stood your
love. As days and nights passed, you were mesmerized by the
quirky, gentle, and kind person. Nothing could melt your heart
faster than a quick glance, a brush by you, and even the raise of
the eyebrows.


Your dreams became more colorful as you dated and discovered each
other together. Soon to tie the knot with your entire future
before you.


And then life happened.


Responsibilities became more of the focus.

Children graced your presence all the time.

Snuggle time on the couch was now consumed by last-minute
emails for work and Instagram stories.

And least we forget that we are never right, only the other
one in the room is.



Oh yes, we settle into what we know and let it all hang out.


In fact, we even get a little snippy when we've had a LONG day!
Something that wouldn't have been a big deal while dating turns
into a massive yelling match as if WWF is in your bedroom.


What remains true. Love is patient. Love is kind. Love endures
all things. (1 Corinthians 13)


If only your words still showed how much you loved each other.
But now it's more of a cutthroat, short-tempered reaction with a
little huff at the end for the exclamation point. And don't
forget the rolling of the eyes.


I'm right, you're wrong.


What remains true. We love. We criticize.


Why is it that we can love, but still hurt those we love?
The K.I.S.S. ~ Love needs to be heard!

Words hurt. Be extra sure the words....


Empower. Build up.

Motivate. Lift up.

Encourage always.



But what remains true? Life isn't perfect. So how can you make
sure love is heard from you?
