1499 There Is No Junk, Only Treasure!

How much money do you spend on things that are in need of
repair or attention? There is no junk, only treasure!

Why are we willing to go and spend money on things that are old,
worn, beaten and battered, tossed in the dumpster?


We are willing to take those out, spend money to repair them, and
bring them into our home. They become our most loved treasures.


They adorn our tables, give us space to sit on, and storage for
lots of memories. Beauty that is spoken about from anyone who
notices.


But when it comes to those around us, especially ourselves, being
beaten up, tattered, feeling like we've been tossed in the
dumpster too many times, we leave those out for the ruins.


We immediately retreat to our own comfort. We let our hearts run
as far away from these people as possible. In fact, we run so far
away, that we ourselves lose our own heart and our own hope.
The K.I.S.S. ~ There is no junk, only
treasure!

Maybe you, yourself, is the one beaten and tattered. Torn and
worn. Barely able to keep your head above the water.


You're gasping for air, treading the high raging surges only to
find yourself further down the river.


You can't catch a break. Your dreams are desolate deserts. Your
marriage is barely a good memory. Your children cling for your
attention, but your heart has little to give.


The exhaustion of living has overcome you.


I call upon you to rise up.


"Arise, shine, for your light has
come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon
you." ~ Isaiah 60:1


"When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already
had been in that condition a long time, He said to
him, “Do you want to be made well?” ~ John 5:6


Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and
walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his
bed, and walked. ~ John 5:8-9


It's time you stand and be an overcomer!


At first, it will feel like you are just learning to walk again.
You will rise up and then stumble more. Your heart will be
crushed many times before happiness returns. Disappointments will
still occur daily. Frustration will come and go.


But the difference is hope.


Hope in the middle of your chaos. Hope in the fallen four walls
you claim as home. Hope that goes far beyond anything you can do
yourself. Hope for what's to come, not what was lost. Hope for a
better day than the one before. Hope just for you!


Yet, there is a cost.


The cost is your broken heart. Your tattered, dried-up spirit.
Your emotional roller coaster that won't let you go. Your
disappointments and delusional efforts. Your extreme anger and
frustration. Your anxious nerves and exhausted body. Your friends
who toss you aside. Your life that is empty.


The cost is great! But the return is greater.


Joy that's self-sustaining. Love that's never-ending. Grace
that's overflowing. Hope that's eternal!


The question is, are you willing to allow God to pick you up out
of the dumpster, out of the ruins, and call you chosen? Beloved?


That junk on the side of the road, in the store where holes and
tears cost more, at the garage sale where it lays in a bin for
someone, anyone to pick up.


Are you willing to let God in where you hurt, where pain resides,
where your heart needs restoration?


God majors in the minors.


You have the heart of God.


Wear it with grace. Share it with many. Know whose you are.
"There is no junk, only treasure!"
