Your family history has a strong influence on your health. You
cannot change your genes, but knowing your make-up is crucial to
understanding your body.

Throughout my life, I have had struggles when it comes to food.
My mom told me that she would walk with me for hours because I
would cry non-stop. There was no consoling me.
The doctor thought I had colic. They tried various formulas for
me. But nothing worked.
As I grew up, I never having normal bowels. Now the crazy thing,
my mom had problems too. And so did my grandmother,
great-grandmother; plus my uncles. The problems ran deep in the
family.
You may not have the same thing as your family members. However,
knowing your family history helps you understand your genetic
predisposition. This is your possible susceptibility.
Now understand that just because it runs in the family doesn't
mean you will have it too. Yet, it gives you the opportunity to
help facilitate a life from a preventative measure.
So what can you do when it comes to your family history?
The K.I.S.S. ~ Be a powerhouse!
Don't back down when it comes to your health.
My mom went to the doctors for some concerns. She had a
colonoscopy and endoscopy. From those results, we found out that
she has some things that genetic. This is information that is
important to anyone in her family.
You want to ask the tough questions so you can be a powerhouse in
your own health and wellness journey.
Ask the tough questions (medical problems/diagnosis, age of
disease onset, age of death, etc.). Look at what serves your health
goals based on your genetic predisposition. Prepare a lifetime
wellness plan (share the information with your doctor, lead with
intention: eat to fuel your body not the disease, exercise on
purpose, etc.). "Be a powerhouse. Train for life. Love your
journey!"
