Monday, March 15th 2021 Surprises are a beautiful thing. Decided to
head north for one day to see my pops for his birthday. It was a
good drive, Derek was amazing helping with Genevieve and while she
only broke down once seems lunchables was the solution. Soon after
arriving pops looked at me and said - thank you. I did not do it
for that - it was not about hearing the words - it was the look in
his eyes. It was .... I was just so happy to see him happy. To see
him happy knowing for his birthday we would be together. Surprises
are a beautiful thing. As I dig through this considering ... what
is the revelation I realize something. Along the journeys of life
we live ... ...it is when we get lost in it all that the gift of
being here now comes into focus. There is another feeling that is
close to that which is when someone does something for another that
is a surprise with no strings attached. Its as if along the path of
their lives something happens - a little break from it all that
generates a reflection - a smile. Understand this - God has given
me a gift of a good man who has lived within my life as a great
father. As we consider our opportunities to step into anothers
world and do something nice make sure you are doing this for the
right person. This is tricky because there are times we can do
things for others no strings attached and it may be someone we do
not know. I get that. For this particular reflection it was about
my pops - a man I think the world of. REVELATION: 2 things! 1 -
live life getting lost within the good and bad - choose the frames
that matter and be all in so that the start nor finish line can not
hold a candle to the light found within the journey. 2 - Give in
life so that as others are within their journeys - what we do is a
blessing to them. What we do can at times take them from their
beginning and ends... from their missions and desires for
destinations pulling them into a moment if not second where they
say thank you and ... its so damn good a look is more than enough
to know - we made the right decision to at that point in time step
into their world. CONSIDER WHO, WHAT AND WHEN? Who do you love?
What can you do ( no strings attached ) for them? When will you do
