148. The Difference Between Love and Connection

Sometimes as parents, it's easy to assume that because we love
our children so much, our level of connection with them is
equally strong. In reality, these are two very different things.
Deep parental love is being willing to lay down your life for
your kids. Connection, on the other hand, is where we feel seen,
heard, and valued by another person, and requires a different
level of openness.
