155. Stop Using Respect as a Weapon

Most parents, if we're honest with ourselves, have had thoughts
like, “My child doesn’t respect me,” or, “My child is so
disrespectful.” Respect needs to be earned, not demanded, and it
takes time to unfold. So what do we really mean when we expect
respect from our kids, and are we using that expectation as a
weapon against them?
