93. Balancing Life, Long Distance, + Love in the Military (ft. Sarah, Nurse/Navy Vet)

Let’s face it: navigating romantic relationships + marriage while
serving in the military is HARD. Curious how dual-military couples
(both partners are serving) navigate life, planning, + careers
while serving? Former Navy Nurse, Influencer, + Nurse Practioner
Sarah is on the podcast discussing HOW she + her husband made it
work over the last 9+ years since meeting in the Navy ROTC
Scholarship program in college. Sarah is a Navy Nurse veteran from
San Diego and comes from a family of military service. During her
time in the Navy she served as a Pediatric nurse. While both
serving in the Navy—Her husband as a Navy jet pilot + her as Navy
Nurse—they balanced their relationship long-distance for years
while still building, growing close, + figuring out a plan to align
their duty stations. In this episode, Sarah gives us tips on how
they made long-distance work as a couple, best practices to stay
close as a couple, why learning each others love languages is SO
valuable. She provides us with specific tips on how to communicate
along the way + still grow close even when you’re miles apart as a
young couple. She dives into how they planned out their career
plans long term to eventually be stationed in the same city + what
the transition was like once they finally lived together!
