Mercedas Taaffe-Cooper joins us for this episode.  Mercedas
is the founder of CounterPunch, which combines boxing and martial
arts, sports science, and a branch of psychology known as reality
therapy.  Mercedas focuses on early intervention and
prevention, particularly with teenagers with regards to
resilience, self-confidence, and the ability to connect and
communicate with others.

The CounterPunch program connects the mind and body so that the
pressure doesn't build and explode, it instead circulates. 
By training teenagers to recognize signals in their own bodies
when they are getting angry, they are empowered then to change
the way they feel.  A physical outlet is very affective for
dealing with high cortisol levels.  As a result, effective
management of cortisol and anger increases quality of life for
everyone around you!

CounterPunch is a results based innovative program that
utilizes a mix of performance psychology, sports science and
boxing.


The program teaches teenagers practical tools to both understand
and effectively master the life skills needed to manage emotions
such as stress, anxiety, anger and depression.
