Progressive overload is a fundamental training principle in
strength training, muscle building, and athletic performance
enhancement. Firstly, its base is that the human body adapts to
stress. Therefore, to continually stimulate improvements in
strength, muscle size, and endurance, you must progressively
increase the stress on your muscles during exercise.
Engaging in progressive overload ensures your body receives
constant challenges, forcing it to adapt to higher stress levels.
As a result, this adaptation process leads to increased muscle
fiber recruitment and improved neural adaptations. Moreover, the
