I am so lucky to have met & live with someone like Naomi in
Fiji. I have never felt so useless until I met her and realised
she does more work than most of us put together. Naomi is an
exceptional Mum, Daughter, Friend and Voice of Reason. Speaking
to Naomi in this episode is just a tiny insight to what she
actually does day to day. Apologies for any audio disturbances
and crack within this episode. We were dealing with children
& lawn mowers!
We discuss EVERYTHING from the superstitions in her family
regarding death meaning she has to have more children, to the
scariest idea I think about; when you have no idea you are
pregnant until the baby comes because your menstruation has been
normal!!
In Fiji culture it is more likely the women are the breadwinners
& feel pressure around being a mum and a 'good' woman. It was
also interesting learning how they view women body image compared
to the western society which is an absolute
plus.
And did you know we now have a thing called human rights? Naomi
you are one in a million and you've been through it all but boy
do you have an amazing sense of humour and I cannot thank you nor
your family enough for letting me come into your home -

anyone is planning to head to Fiji.
I hope you get to the end of this episode and see that we are
raising money for Naomi's family and village. It would mean so
much to me and all of them if you were able to donate anything
you can for their school in order to have another teacher.
