This episode is brought to you by Rupa Health, Beekeepers, and
InsideTracker. Almost a quarter of the worldwide adult
population has high blood pressure, or hypertension, an
inflammatory disease and a leading cause of heart disease. Sadly,
anti-hypertensive medications are not that successful, and well
over half of those who have hypertension are not treated
adequately. In today’s episode, I talk with Dr. George
Papanicolaou, Dr. James DiNicolantonio, and Dr. Casey Means about
the dangers of high blood pressure and how to lower it with diet
and lifestyle. Dr. George Papanicolaou is a graduate of the
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and is board certified
in Family Medicine from Abington Memorial Hospital. He is also an
Institute for Functional Medicine practitioner. Upon graduation
from his residency, he joined the Indian Health Service. In 2000,
he founded Cornerstone Family Practice in Rowley, MA. In 2015, he
established Cornerstone Personal Health, a practice dedicated
entirely to Functional Medicine. Dr. Papanicolaou joined The
UltraWellness Center in 2017. Dr. James DiNicolantonio is a
Doctor of Pharmacy and a cardiovascular research scientist. He
serves as the associate editor of the British Medical Journal’s
Open Heart, a journal published in partnership with the British
Cardiovascular Society, and is on the editorial advisory boards of
several other medical journals. Dr. DiNicolantonio is the author or
coauthor of over 250 publications in the medical literature. He
also is the author of five bestselling health books: The Salt Fix,
Superfuel, The Longevity Solution, The Immunity Fix, and The
Mineral Fix. Dr. Casey Means is a Stanford-trained
physician, Chief Medical Officer and cofounder of metabolic health
company Levels, an associate editor of the International Journal of
Disease Reversal and Prevention, and a guest lecturer at Stanford
University. Dr. Means’ perspective has been recently featured in
the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Men’s Health, Forbes,
Business Insider, TechCrunch, Entrepreneur, Metabolism, Endocrine
Today, and more. This episode is brought to you by Rupa
