Funeral services were no exception. Betsy Wurzel interviewed Wade
Simmon, a funeral worker who faced difficulties throughout the
pandemic.

Many rules were put in place to protect both the workers at the
funeral home and the families who were experiencing the loss of a
loved one. Holding the typical funeral where immediate and extended
families attended along with friends of the deceased individual was
no longer a possibility. The rule that created the most controversy
was the decision to limit how many people attended the funeral. It
was not just Simmon that implemented this rule; it was the entire
