In this interview with Betsy Wurzel and Dr. Kelly discusses how she
would like for people to understand what Healthcare workers went
through before, during, and after the pandemic! Dr. Kelly,
wrote this book to help Healthcare workers heal from their
traumatic pandemic experiences.
The nurses and doctors were already dealing with short staffing
issues then the Pandemic brought up more staffing issues, lack of
equipment, and lack of support from the administration. Dr.
Kelly interviewed both male and female Healthcare workers each
bringing a different perspective of their experiences. Dr. Kelly
discusses how we may still see the effects in 3 to 5 years as
Healthcare Workers deal with anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
The interview brought up how mental health is very important and
the need for self-care and discussed how the stigma must stop
surrounding mental health care issues. Dr. Kelly goes
into great detail about these topics in the interview.
