The accusation was extremely serious: their parents, relatives, and some neighbors had sexually abused them for months, involving them in a long series of satanic rituals in cemeteries. The adults were sentenced to decades in prison and never saw their children again. The children grew up in new families and never saw their homes again.

Her body was found 17 years later in that very church, while her killer continued to murder. Elisa Claps was a student, born in Potenza on January 21, 1977, and killed at the age of sixteen. She disappeared in her hometown on September 12, 1993, and her whereabouts remained unknown for over sixteen years until her body was found in the attic of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Potenza on March 17, 2010.
