Deep beneath Site-19, Dr. Miriam Vale is assigned to review a
sealed archive known as The Black Ledger, a collection of five
SCP files considered too psychologically dangerous to remain
inside the Foundation’s ordinary database. These are not
necessarily the most destructive anomalies ever contained. They
are the cases that stayed with the people who read them, leaving
behind memories, contradictions, and questions that never fully
disappeared.


The files describe a lighthouse that broadcasts the final
thoughts of ships that have not yet sunk, a suburban house that
replaces its residents’ memories with memories of its rooms, an
abandoned underground platform where the final train removes
passengers from recorded history, a sealed hospital ward that
continues producing charts for empty beds, and a deep-sea
transmission that answers questions before anyone has asked them.


At first, the cases appear unrelated. But as Dr. Vale reads
deeper, the same impossible details begin appearing in every
report: the date November 17, 1989, a handwritten phrase about
records remembering what the world forgets, references to a
nonexistent Foundation department called Records Division Zero,
and a tall faceless observer standing quietly near the edge of
photographs and recovered footage. The more the files are
compared, the clearer the observer becomes.
