From Pennsylvania via LA to Utah: Valisha‘s 4-Year Au Pair Journey

In this episode of aupaircoffee, I chat with Valisha from the
Netherlands! She was an au pair back in 2018, extended her stay,
and lived in Pennsylvania and later in LA, just a 20-minute bike
ride from Santa Monica! After finishing university, she decided
to become an au pair again in 2023 – this time in Park City,
Utah. ️️





She absolutely loves her host family and already plans to extend
again – making it a total of four years as an au pair! But life
in Utah isn’t just about skiing and beautiful mountains: ski
passes are insanely expensive , and she works a lot on weekends,
especially in winter. Luckily, her best friend has the same
schedule, so they get through it together.





And then there’s the Mormon influence in Utah… While her host
family isn’t Mormon, she definitely notices how much religion
shapes the state – for example, good luck finding coffee there! ️
