Polkadot & Vodafone: The Road To Mass Blockchain Adoption

We have two leaders from Vodafone and Polkadot on the show to
bridge the gap between industry and web3! We chat to David Hawig
from the Web3 Foundation and David Palmer, CPO at Pairpoint, the
web3-focused subsidiary of Vodafone, about the road to mass
adoption of Web3 and blockchain technologies. 


We discuss how Vodafone / Pairpoint is leveraging blockchain tech
for the Internet of Things, the importance of trust and smart
contracts in the IoT industry and how they have built
permissioned blockchain solutions already and are looking into
building on public blockchains!


We also discuss the challenges and opportunities for businesses
in adopting crypto into their business models. The guests
emphasize the need for a positive perception of blockchain
technology and the importance of business applications and
efficiency gains for mass adoption. David H. tells us about the
Web3 Foundation's role in onboarding enterprises and the strategy
for promoting Web3 and Polkadot. 


Finally, we touch on the historic rise and fall of the telecom
industry and how web applications like Facebook, Google and
Amazon captured most of the value in the information age vs. the
infrastructure players (telco companies).
