#6 Did you know the Bible says Christian teachers will be held to
a higher standard?
You can read it for yourself in James 3:1
My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we
shall receive a stricter judgment.
The first time I read this scripture I said to myself,
"Who would ever want to be a teacher and put themselves in a
position to receive stricter judgment?" I decided that day I
wouldn't be a teacher.
You and I both know God has a sense of humor and He has given me
a "gift" of teaching and I love it. I know who is going to be
judging me so I try to make sure everything I teach is
Bible-based.
That does not mean I've got it all figured out but I'm going to
do my best to represent God's word. I figured out I am going to
answer to God so that is my standard. I ask God to help me and
when I get something wrong I ask Him for forgiveness.
Now you know my standard, I want to "flex" my teaching muscle on
this podcast.
I was reading 2 Peter one morning and I read 2 Perter 3:8 and the
verse "jumped out" to me. (As you may have learned in previous
lessons this is where I stop and "meditate" on what or why God
has pondering this verse)
When I did I started to see the "math" in this verse and knew if
I could figure out what "God-Time" looked like it would
help me give a better picture of what my time was worth if I
spend it on "spiritual" stuff.
It took me about a day to figure out and create the calculator
but I thought it was cool and wanted to share it with you.
