What is Sin? Why Does It Matter?

22 In this episode I give you a definition of What sin is and why
does it matter?

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
The definition I have for sin is missing the mark. If
you can picture a target (think a dartboard) and on the target,
there is a bullseye. Now picture throwing a dart and not hitting
the bullseye.

Every time you throw a dart and miss the bullseye (assuming you
are aiming for the bullseye) that is considered a sin. So when
the Bible says "all" have sinned it's easy to see how each of us
has missed the mark of perfection in our life.

In Romans 5, Paul tells us because of one man's sin we all are
under sin. He then explains because of one man's righteous act we
all can be free from sin. (If I were you I'd read the whole
chapter :-) )


Romans 5:12 


Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and
death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because all
sinned.


Romans 5:18,19


Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all
men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's
righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in
justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were
made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience, many will be made
righteous.


God knows what He is doing and we need to trust His great and
simple solution of salvation through the man Jesus.
