038: Diversity, change and empowerment with Isabella Echeverri

Isabella Echeverri is a former Olympic and World Cup football
player; she's captained every team she was part of, and she is
convinced that football / soccer has the power to drive huge
change.


We first met Isabella at Common Goal's Football for
Sustainability Summit during the European Championships in Berlin
in 2024, and she joins our podcast to talk about diversity,
change and empowerment.


She’s a huge advocate for diversity in sports, that every single
little girl should have a role model in sport that she can look
up to. Her video challenging the attitude towards professional
women footballers led to fundamental change in her home nation of
Colombia and she joins this podcast to discuss leadership styles,
how to improve diversity in sports, and what is needed to bring
systemic change.
