#6 V. Shayne Frederick

V. Shayne Frederick is not only one of my favorite vocalists on
the Philly Scene, he’s one of my favorite vocalists anywhere.
He’s got this old school sensibility that melds with a modernist
sense of adventure into a kaleidoscope of Jazz history That is
uniquely his, of all the vocalists I’ve heard nobody sounds like
V. Shayne. He can really keep musicians and audience members on
their toes and hangin on every note. He just released his first
album “Lovesome”, which you absolutely have to check out.
