#7 Gerald Veasley

My guest today is bassist Gerald Veasley. Philadelphia Native,
Gerald has brought his 6-string bass all over the world
performing with Grover Washington Jr., Joe Zawinul, McCoy Tyner,
and Odean Pope to name a few. I’ve gotten to know Gerald through
his work as president of Jazz Philadelphia, a non-profit seeking
to strengthen and elevate the Jazz ecosystem in our city.
Although this is a conversation between two bassists, we don’t
actually talk about bass that much. Most of the conversation
centers around one of my favorite topics, the art of learning,
which is a common theme whenever Gerald and I get a chance to
speak.
