High praise from some familiar names in regards the music of Ivory
Blue. A new artist with a story of perseverance. Ran away from home
at the young age of 15 and ended up in Kansas City. Along the way
playing local coffee shops and any other place that was interested.
The tail of a struggling artist out on the road trying to find a
home. Ended up in Kansas City and decided to enter the Next2Rock
Contest in L.A. Made it to the finals at the legendary Viper Room
and played in front of some big names like Gavin Rosdale of Bush
and John Varvatos. Taking home the honors and winning it all, Ivory
Blue’s career would take on a new life. Gavin Rosdale described
Ivory as a true artist. John Varvatos said “"Wow, I've been waiting
for the wow and you are the wow.”. Ultimately signing to John
Varvatos record label BMLG and is working with him in
Nashville.
The journey to get this point has been challenging overcoming
obstacles along the way. Deciding to drop out of High School and
move to Florida. Ivory Blue recalls turning to Eminem’s album
“Encore” for a release, listening to that album constantly and
memorizing the lyrics. One of the first artists to come out as a
non binary transgender. Ivory Blue’s unique style has captured many
with her new song “Ready Get Set”. Hear more about the journey of
Ivory Blue on episode 69 of the DOMKcast. #DOMKRocks
