Episode 5: Point Break

Point Break remains a pivotal piece in our hosts’ film education
largely because it asks the essential question: what more do you
need than Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze surfing, skydiving, and
robbing banks? The 1991 film may not have redefined movies upon
its release, but since then it’s gained appreciation largely
because of director Kathryn Bigelow’s giant mark on Hollywood.
Bigelow remains to be the only woman in history to win an Oscar
for Best Director, and in this episode of Remainders, Darren and
Patrick try to give credit where credit’s due.
