classic 1994 film Ed Wood. A story of creative expression and a
love letter to Burton’s idol, Ed Wood’s status as “World’s Worst
Director” only grows with prestige and envy over time. Ed Wood
and Bela Lugosi (brilliantly played by Johnny Depp and Martin
Landau) inspire and drive each other to leave their mark on
Hollywood. Wood’s films included Glen or Glenda, Plan 9 From
Outer Space, and among countless other Z-grade schlock in horror
and sci-fi. 


A true original, his ambition was far greater than his talent.
But it was that originality and drive that caught the attention
of similar misanthrope Tim Burton, who created his most personal
and auto-biographical film. Similarly, we discuss the ways drive
