In this episode of the Fitness in Philosophy podcast James and
Robby turn their attention to the concept of science and its
relationship with fitness.

In the last episode, Science and Fitness Part 1, they were
primarily concerned with questions surrounding exercise science
itself.

In this episode, Science and Fitness Part 2, they focus
specifically on how the conclusions of science affect, or don't
affect, the practice of fitness.

They ask and attempt to answer the following questions in the
episode: -Can science capture the richness and depth of the
practice of fitness?

-Should all claims in the practice of fitness be scientific?

-Is fitness coaching an art or a science?

-What was the practice of fitness before science came along?

-Does the practice of fitness have any need for science?

-What's the relationship between exercise science, the fitness
coach, and the fitness client?

The Fitness in Philosophy podcast is dedicated to discussing the
intersection between concepts in philosophy and their connection
with fitness. Each episode we talk about a particular
philosophical concept like autonomy, knowledge, virtue, truth,
etc. and discuss how that idea connects with coaching fitness,
participating in fitness as an individual, and fitness culture at
large. It is hosted by James Fitzgerald and Robby Gustin.
