This is a very special episode of the Paperback Rocker Podcast. I
talked to Randy Schmidt, author of "Little Girl Blue: The Life of
Karen Carpenter". Coincidentally, we are both from the tiny
Oklahoma town of Cordell. We talk about that among many other
subjects connected to the Carpenters, including the many
controversies and periphery players like Paul Williams, Steve
Martin, and others. Randy's other books are "Yesterday Once More:
The Carpenters Reader" and "Judy Garland on Judy Garland:
Interviews and Encounters". You can find his books wherever fine
books are sold, as well as on his website www.randylschmidt.com. In
case you are new to the show, you can find my books of rock and
roll fiction at www.PaperbackRocker.com. My mom even has a new book
called "Wildflowers and Broken Gods", which is a memoir about
living in a remote Greek village in 1971. It has lots of wonderful
pictures and is getting great feedback. Search for that title or
her name, Linda Syverson, on Amazon for a beautiful hardback or
Kindle version. Please consider making a donation if you enjoy this
episode via the Paypal button at www.PaperbackRocker.com. If you
can leave an iTunes review, I would also be eternally in your debt.
Make sure to check out my other episodes and subsribe wherever fine
podcasts are listed! Thanks, friends!
