You have made it to your mid thirties or you're in your forties
and childless. You are not alone. I think it is a
global expectation that you get married, have kids and live
happily ever after. We all know that life is not this
simple. Life is a roller coaster and with all the choices
and technology we have today, having kids is not everyone's first
priority. There are some things in life that we can change
and then there are some things that we cannot change yet.
The female biological clock has an expiration date.
We don't know for certain how long our lady parts can bear
children. The bible says a woman named Sarah gave birth at
90 years old. So if you're in your 50s, there is still
hope. But these biblical stories won't be taken seriously
by the average person on earth today. Medical doctors will
tell you by the time you are the advanced maternal age (35 and
beyond) your likelihood of carrying a child to full term is
diminishing day by day. These words will have a woman and
her partner fearful in a heartbeat.
In today's episode, I talk to Courtney Shane, a married woman in
her early 40s, whom spent most of her life as a lesbian.
She fell in love with a man for the first time and married
him 5 years ago. Bearing children hasn't been on her mind
until a recent experience with her OB that now has her living
with the fear of missing out on the opportunity to have children.
