Recorded November 3, 2020. A research seminar as part of the
Identities in Transformation Postgraduate Seminar Series, in
partnership with Trinity Long Room Hub. Continuing on from last
year's series, this seminar explores the concept of embodiment, and
will seek to interrogate how concepts of the body and embodiment
influence our knowledge of, perception of, and negotiation with the
world through which we move. Talks will explore processes of
embodiment and disembodiment, and will touch on the development of
identity in relation to embodied aspects of the self, with special
focuses on gender, emotion, performance and social belonging. The
seminar will feature talks by Orlaith Darling (School of English),
Nandini Gupta (School of Ecumenics/Peace Studies) and Morgan Wait
(School of Histories and Humanities). They will be joined by
faculty members Dr Miranda Fay Thomas (School of Creative Arts) and
Dr Lilith Acadia (Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND Fellow 2019/2020,
currently at National Taiwan University). Learn more at:
