#99 - Scott Downes (Bliss Fields)

Welcome to the world of Bliss Fields. A band that Scott Downes
started with his former partner and originally named Iris back in
2013. He was on a mission to play shoegaze music because unlike
so many other genres, the instrumentals can show emotion -- not
only the lyrics. But, like so many bands, Scott experienced a
change in the lineup recently. In fact, it was a completely new
lineup. That is when the idea to change the band's name to Bliss
Fields started flowing through his head. Scott says that it felt
like a jumping off point instead of being a new band. Bliss
Fields represented a new chapter for his musical journey. One
that has been nothing but constant focus and hard work. Bliss
Fields released a self-titled EP in August. It served as an
introduction for the band. It also sent a message that the band
meant business. Listeners were able to get a feel for what to
expect from this group. But, that wasn't enough. Bliss Fields
went right back to work and continued to work towards a
full-length album, which will be out on January 14. Two singles
have been released leading into the new album (Clementine &
Satisfy). Scott says this is his favorite music he has ever
worked with. When he began writing the songs, he started with the
guitar first. He wanted the entire album to flow like a movie --
It's very dramatic according to Scott. Plenty of other fun
