#104 - Brian Swindle (Have Mercy)

Have Mercy made a massive announcement at the beginning of the
year that shook the music world. They finally released their
secrect about coming back after a two year hiatus and their plans
on putting out an EP at some point in the future. For Brian
Swindle, this was news that he knew would eventually happen, even
when the band didn't have discussions about regrouping to write
new music. For Brian, the band will always be included in his
life in some capacity.


The writing and recording process originally started as trial and
error when they came back together. The band agreed that if it
all went wrong or didn't feel right, they would scrap the entire
EP all together. But, the opposite happened. The Have Mercy
members began to fall in love with writing music again. Brian
said he has been in a mostly happy mindset since becoming sober
and working on his mental health. He had to dig deep for these
lyrics because people are familiar to the old sound that he often
wrote when he was not in the proper head space. Luckily for the
fan, three of the songs will have a similar sound as Have Mercy's
first record and the fourth song will be more of a pop song.
Regardless, there is excitement surrounding the band about what
they are creating.


Brian says the best part about this entire process is they get to
do things their way. They don't have a set schedule and they
might even self-release the songs. Brian originally stepped away
from the band because he was burnt out and had some major life
problems he had to face. Now, he is motivated again and is having
fun making music.
