#027: Rising Lumber Costs - Consider Advanced Framing

The cost of lumber in the spring of 2020 is skyrocketing, many
people are canceling, postponing or rethinking their projects. I
feel this is an opportunity to re-think the way we build and
implement advanced framing strategies.

Advanced framing is nothing new, it has been around for decades,
but there are still some people who are skeptical. Maybe they
remember some poorly built houses in the 60's or maybe they are
just ingrained with the thinking that the way they have been
doing things for 20 years is the best method. 

Utilizing advanced framing methods can potentially eliminate up
to 30% of the total lumber material for a project, this can
result in some significant cost savings and as a benefit the
added insulation will result in lower heating and cooling
bills.
